This is not technically true because a plane is not flying a straight line so to speak. It’s constantly maintaining adjustments to make sure it stays at cruising altitude. Temperature does not equate with the distance the Earth is to the sun. It has to do with the tilt of the axis. That is why when it’s winter time in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s summer time in the Southern Hemisphere! It’s because of 23.5 degree tilt of the Earth’s axis in orbit. This is why we have seasons. As for lack of flights in the Southern Hemisphere, you have to figure in that there is very little land in the Southern Hemisphere compared to the North with a lot less people. Not to mention that the Countries (excluding Australia) in the South are some of the poorest countries in the World to live in. To put it into better perspective the USA has over 15,000 airports, whereas Argentina has only 1,100 and South Africa has less than 600. This is why there is less traffic in the South.<\/p>\n
