They describe the relationship between the forces acting on a body and its motion due to those forces. They have been expressed in several different ways over nearly three centuries, and can be summarized as follows:”
———–
First law: The velocity of a body remains constant unless the body is acted upon by an external force.

———–
Second law: The acceleration a of a body is parallel and directly proportional to the net force F and inversely proportional to the mass m, i.e., F = ma.

———–
Third law: The mutual forces of action and reaction between two bodies are equal, opposite and collinear.”

————–

NEWTONS LAWS OF MOTION

First law: The velocity of a body remains constant unless the body is acted upon by an external force.[3][4][5]

————–
Second law: The acceleration a of a body is parallel and directly proportional to the net force F and inversely proportional to the mass m, i.e., F = ma.

—————-
Third law: The mutual forces of action and reaction between two bodies are equal, opposite and collinear.

—————

WHAT IS GRAVITY

Gravity is a force which tries to pull two objects toward each other. Anything which has mass also has a gravitational pull. The more massive an object is, the stronger its gravitational pull is. Earth’s gravity is what keeps you on the ground and what causes objects to fall. Gravity is what holds the planets in orbit around the Sun and what keeps the Moon in orbit around Earth. The closer you are to an object, the stronger its gravitational pull is. Gravity is what gives you weight. It is the force that pulls on all of the mass in your body.
————–
Gravity of Earth
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravity_of_Earth

“It has an approximate value of 9.81 m/s2, which means that, ignoring the effects of air resistance, the speed of an object falling freely near the Earth’s surface will increase by about 9.81 metres (about 32 ft) per second every second. This quantity is sometimes referred to informally as little g (in contrast, the gravitational constant G is referred to as big G).
Newton’s law of universal gravitation
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton’s_law_of_universal_gravitation

“Newton’s law of universal gravitation states that any two bodies in the universe attract each other with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.”

F=Gm1m2/r2

Where F is the force between the masses, G is the gravitational constant, m1 is the first mass, m2 is the second mass, and r is the distance between the centers of the masses.
—————

NEWTONS SECOND LAW

Newton’s Second Law
http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/accelaration-gravity-d_340.html

“Change of motion is proportional to the force applied, and take place along the straight line the force acts.”
————–
From experimentation, it has been discovered that, near the surface of the Earth, Earth’s gravity will produce a downward acceleration of 32.2 feet per second per second. (9.81 meters per second per second)

As you might imagine, after quite a few such thought experiments, some simple free-fall equations have been derived which can be used to harness this knowledge via numbers and arithmetic:

Velocity = Gravity x Time
and
Distance = 1/2 x Gravity x Time(squared)

So if we want to know how far the object has free-fallen after 10 seconds:

Distance = 1/2 x 32.2 x 100 = 1608.7 feet

So after 10 seconds, in Earth’s gravity, an object will have fallen 1600 feet (488m) and will be falling at 321.7 ft/sec.

What that means is that an object:

After falling one second, will be falling at 32.2 ft/sec. (9.81 m/sec)
After the 2nd second, it will be falling at 64.4 ft/sec.
After the 3rd second, it will be falling at 96.5 ft/sec.
After the 4th second, it will be falling at 128.7 ft/sec.
After the 5th second, it will be falling at 160.9 ft/sec.
After the 6th second, it will be falling at 193.0 ft/sec.
After the 7th second, it will be falling at 225.2 ft/sec.
After the 8th second, it will be falling at 257.4 ft/sec.
After the 9th second, it will be falling at 289.6 ft/sec.
After the 10th second, it will be falling at 321.7 ft/sec. (98.1 m/sec)

Note: The velocity is achieved without any aero-dynamical resistance (vacuum). The air resistance will be significant for higher velocities or for object with large surface area to mass ratio – feathers or similar.
———————
Free fall comparison to the towers:

13680 feet – 52.8 seconds (10x the height of the tower)
6840 feet – 37.4 seconds (5x the height of the tower)
4104 feet – 16 seconds (3x the height of the tower)
2736 feet – 13.0 seconds (2x the height of the tower)
2052 feet – 11.3 seconds (1.5x the height of the tower)
1368 feet – 9.2 seconds (height of the tower)
684 feet – 6.5 seconds (1/2 the height of the tower)
456 feet – 5.3 seconds (1/3 the height of the tower)
342 feet – 4.6 seconds (1/4 the height of the tower)
274 feet – 4.1 seconds (1/5 the height of the tower)
228 feet – 3.8 seconds (1/6 the height of the tower)
171 feet – 3.3 seconds (1/8 the height of the tower)
—————

FREE FALL CALCULATOR CHART

WITH NO AIR RESISTANCE (VACUUM)

Free fall (time and velocity) Calculator
http://keisan.casio.com/exec/system/1224852055

“Calculates the free fall time and velocity without air resistance from the free fall distance.”
———–
Free fall (distance and velocity) Calculator
http://keisan.casio.com/exec/system/1224835316

“Calculates the free fall distance and velocity without air resistance from the free fall time.”
————————-

WITH AIR RESISTANCE

Free fall with air resistance (time and velocity) Calculator
http://keisan.casio.com/exec/system/1231475371

“Calculates the free fall time and velocity with air resistance from the free fall distance.”
————-
Free fall with air resistance (distance and velocity) Calculator
http://keisan.casio.com/exec/system/1224830797

“Calculates the free fall distance and velocity with air resistance from the free fall time.”
————-

LAWS OF MOTION AT WORK

Newtons Universal Law of Gravitation – Science in a Minute
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jk5E-CrE1zg
——–
Minute Physics: What is Gravity?
www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_o4aY7xkXg
———
High School Physics: Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation
www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZZGJfFf8XI&
———-
Bill Nye the Science Guy – A Gravity Demonstration
www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZi8TXtRRYg&
————-
9/11 Science vs. Conspiracy Theories Part 1 of 2
www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PawC4u1U7k
www.youtube.com/watch?v=LG6i6WBHM3U
=================================

NEWTONS LAWS TEST

Now that you should have a better understanding of Newton’s laws let’s ask a few basic questions that you should have no troubles answering:

1) A car driving at 50 MPH smashes into the back of a semi truck, what will happen?

A) The car will smash through the entire truck.
B) The car and truck will move at 50 mph.
C) The car will come to a destructive stop.
D) All of the above.

—————————
2) A bowling ball is dropped off a Cliff and there is no air resistance.
