The entire building has just collapsed, as if a demolition team set off, when you see the old demolitions of these old buildings, it folded down on itself, and it is not there any more.

Don: Exactly, the second building that we witnessed the airplane enter, has been .. the top half had been fully involved in flame; It just collapsed. There is panic on the streets. Thousands of people running up Church Street, which is what I’m looking out on, trying to get away, but the entire .. at least as far as I can see .. the top half of the building .. at least half of it .. I can’t see below that .. half of it .. just started with a gigantic rumble, folded in on itself and collapsed in a huge plume of smoke and dust.
Peter: We are talking about massive casualties here at the moment, and we have… Whew. Extraordinary.
Don: There is panic on the streets. There are people screaming and running from the site. The gigantic plume of smoke has reached me probably a quarter of a mile north of there.
Peter: Now this is what it looked like moments ago. My gosh. The southern .. tower … 10 o’clock eastern time this morning, just collapsing on itself. This is a place where thousands of people work. We have no idea what caused this. Um ..If you wish to bring ah .. anybody who ever watched a building being demolished on purpose knows .. that if you’re going to do this you have to get at the .. at the under infrastructure of a building and bring it down.”

There were many reports about an explosion in the basement of the north tower. For example, janitor William Rodriguez reported that he and others felt an explosion below the first sub-level office at 9 AM, after which co-worker Felipe David, who had been in front of a nearby freight elevator, came into the office with severe burns on his face and arms yelling “explosion! explosion! explosion!”

Rodriguez’s account has been corroborated by Jose Sanchez, who was in the workshop on the fourth sub-level. Sanchez said that he and a co-worker heard a big blast that “sounded like a bomb,” after which “a huge ball of fire went through the freight elevator.”

“Seconds after the first massive explosion below in the basement still rattled the floor, I hear another explosion from way above.Although I was unaware at the time, this was the airplane hitting the tower, it occurred moments after the first explosion.” But before Rodriguez had time to think, co-worker Felipe David stormed into the basement office with severe burns on his face and arms, screaming for help and yelling “explosion! explosion! explosion!” – William Rodriguez – WTC survivor. “Even if standard controlled demolitions do not create seismic waves (because the explosions are aerial), it is useful to compare the data from the World Trade Center on 9/11 with seismic data obtained during the controlled demolition of the Kingdome in Seattle (see Anonymous, 2009) and at Oklahoma City (US) (Holzer et al., 1996). The case of the Kingdome is particularly interesting because seismologists expressly asked that the explosions be measured (in order to take advantage of the occasion to gather research data), and those in Oklahoma City were part of a reconstruction, using explosives, of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. These two examples involved a powerful subaerial explosion and the emitting of Rayleigh waves. Furthermore, the falling of the debris had no seismic consequences, even at distances well below 34 km (less than 7 km and 26 km respectively). Only the seismic equipment situated close to the source during the reconstruction of the bombing in Oklahoma City was able to record the seismic energy created by the collapse of the building.”

NOTES:

I often get deniers say “How come we don’t hear the loud popping sounds similar to Controlled Demolition at the WTC?”.

The reason why we don’t hear loud distinct popping sounds associated with CD is because the proximity of each detonation are so close together that it’s blended in. So it sounds more like a roaring “train” than a pop.

I’ve also considered the possibility that the Towers were also fully furnished and would hide the sound blasts more. Whereas in other demo’s, the buildings are fully gutted, windows removed, with no sound insulation to decrease the volume of each blast.
