“WASHINGTON (CNN) — As horrified Americans watched the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, unfold on their television sets, Vice President Dick Cheney directed the U.S. government’s response from an emergency bunker.”

“After the planes struck the twin towers, a third took a chunk out of the Pentagon. Cheney then heard a report that a plane over Pennsylvania was heading for Washington. A military assistant asked Cheney twice for authority to shoot it down.

“The vice president said yes again,” remembered Josh Bolton, deputy White House chief of staff. “And the aide then asked a third time. He said, ‘Just confirming, sir, authority to engage?’ And the vice president — his voice got a little annoyed then — said, ‘I said yes.'”

It was a rare flash of anger from a man who knew he was setting the tone at a White House in crisis.”

WHO WAS THE YOUNG MAN/AIDE?

In Norman Mineta’s testimony he refers to a “young man” was in the PEOC with Cheney informing the VP that “the plane is 50 miles out”. Still to this day, we don’t know exactly who this young man was but there are a few people that it could have been.

In a presentation at IONA College, Darling elaborates a bit and says the plane was an E4B command center. He says around the 14:00 minute mark that it was an E4B, probably from Andrews, that made a left turn instead of right and came over P-56.

“In an ABC News program narrated by Peter Jennings on the first anniversary of 9/11, Condoleezza Rice is portrayed as supporting the early descent time. After describing Cheney’s trip down to the PEOC with the Secret Service agents, ABC’s Charles Gibson said: “Up above, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice is trying to find the rest of the President’s team,” after which Rice is shown saying: “As I was trying to find all of the principals, the Secret Service came in and said, ‘You have to leave now for the bunker. The Vice President’s already there. There may be a plane headed for the White House.’” Gibson then added: “In the bunker, the Vice President is joined by Rice and Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta.”16 ABC agreed in advance, therefore, with Mineta’s account, according to which Cheney was down there before he arrived.”

NOTES: If Cheney himself says that Secret Service arrived shortly after the second impact (@9:03am) and they took him down to the Bunker….. then it would be impossible for Cheney to be puting his foot up on his desk at 9:34 while watching the TV from his office. These photos were recently released to make Cheney appear to have arrived at PEOC much later than he actually did. We don’t even know for sure when these photos were taken, by whom and why they have remained “secret” for 14 years.
