9/11 PHONE CALLS

THE 9/11 PHONE CALLS

One of the more difficult issues when it comes to understanding 9/11 is how the passengers on board the 4 flights were able to make those phone calls. In particular the cell phone calls.

Studies have shown that cell phone calls were impossible in 2001. If this is true, that would mean that the cell phone calls were faked, coerced or pre recorded.

Look at all the evidence and come to your own conclusions.

“On November 27, 2009, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s Fifth Estate program aired a show entitled “9/11: The Unofficial Story,”1 for which I, along with a few other members of the 9/11 Truth Movement, was interviewed. In the most important part of my interview, I pointed out that, according to the FBI’s report on phone calls from the airliners provided in 2006 for the Moussaoui trial, Barbara Olson’s only call from Flight 77 was “unconnected” and hence lasted “0 seconds.”

WERE THE CELL PHONE CALLS POSSIBLE?

CELL PHONES DO NOT WORK ON PLANES

Here are sources and testimony from many witnesses who claim it’s impossible to make cell phone calls at cruising altitude.

“Once you get to a certain height, you are no longer in the range of the cellular network” because cell phone towers aren’t built to project their signals that high, she said. The technology is “difficult now, but it’s not something that can’t happen in the future.”

“As it stands, cellular phones simply will not work at higher altitudes in n airplane cabin.”

“Similarly, some have wondered why, to the best of anybody’s knowledge, no passengers placed cell phone calls to loved ones, as occurred during the 9/11 attacks. Does the absence of call records suggest the passengers had been incapacitated somehow, or that the plane had met a very sudden end? No. Unless an aircraft is flying very low and within range of a cell tower, cellular calling from a plane does not work. Your phone will not pick up a signal”.

“It would have been impossible, you’re out over the Ocean you know, many many miles from shore. And frankly, cell phones don’t actually work above 5000 feet. Even in the United States here flying over land just because there become so many towers that the cell phone can reach that it just shuts down completely. Even if you were to carry a cell phone into the air, it’s not going to operate at the altitude that the airplane was at that time.” – Jeff Skiles

How phones work in flight

“The maximum distance at which a phone can still make calls and send texts varies depending on the type of tower and transmitter, but an airplane would have to be no more than 10,000 feet in the air for any cell phones on board to still have a signal, according to Bill Rojas, director of telecom research at IDC Asia Pacific. It’s not just altitude that can limit cell phone service.”

“Hours before Abbott revealed the underwater signals had disappeared, a new report surfaced saying the flight’s co-pilot made a “desperate” cell phone call before the plane vanished.” “nvestigators said the phone briefly connected with a telecommunications tower, but that the call was never completed.
“The telco’s (telecommunications company’s) tower established the call that he was trying to make. On why the call was cut off, it was likely because the aircraft was fast moving away from the tower and had not come under the coverage of the next one,” an unidentified source said.”

CDMA TECHNOLOGY

In 2004, the airline industry started implementing CDMA technology that enables cell phones to operate during flight. Although available, this technology is still not widely used on all flights today.

“The proof-of-concept demonstration flight originated out of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. During the approximate two-hour flight, passengers were able to place and receive phone calls and text messages on their mobile phones. Passengers included members of the media and government representatives.

A small in-cabin CDMA cellular base station on the plane, that uses standard cellular communications, was connected to the worldwide terrestrial phone network by an air-to-ground Globalstar satellite link.”

Cellphones in Flight Face Technical and Social Hurdles

“In 2006 the nation’s commercial airliners may begin to allow passengers to make cellphone calls and connect to the Internet throughout a flight. No longer will passengers have to cram in their last cellular calls before takeoff. Instead, they will be able to use standard mobile phones to make and receive calls while in flight.”

“Airline passengers have been able to make calls during flights for years, using telephones built into seat backs. But high cost and poor connection quality have discouraged their use.”

MORPHING CALLS

Is it possible that the calls could have been morphed? I think this is highly unlikely but worth looking at.

When Seeing and Hearing Isn’t Believing
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/national/dotmil/arkin020199.htm

“”Gentlemen! We have called you together to inform you that we are going to overthrow the United States government.” So begins a statement being delivered by Gen. Carl W. Steiner, former Commander-in-chief, U.S. Special Operations Command.

At least the voice sounds amazingly like him.

But it is not Steiner. It is the result of voice “morphing” technology developed at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico.”

DEBUNKING THE “FAKE PHONE CALLS”

Many debunkers will claim that the cell calls were not placed at cruising altitude but at a much lower altitude which would have been below the threshold to allow calls to be made. Well here is the NTSB data from all 4 flights including the times and altitude. Match it up to the phone calls and you will see that many of the alleged calls were made at cruising altitude.

There are also people that do not believe the calls were faked and that they were actually made from the passengers. Listed below are debunking attempts.
